Property panel discussions

December 14, 2015 — Over the past couple of months, I’ve had the pleasure of moderating two property panel discussions here in Hong Kong.

The first session, on October 16, was jointed hosted by the Canadian and American chambers of Commerce in Hong Kong. It featured presentations by Doris Lam from Savills,  Gareth Hart  from Colliers International,  Martina Hui from Leading Edge Real Estate and Sam Van Horebeek of East-West Property Advisors on the attractions of investing in residential property in Australia, Canada, London and America.

The second event took place on December 3 and was organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. It featured presentations by Jennifer Kay Chan from Forest Hill Real Estate and Adam German from Housing Japan about investing in Toronto and Tokyo, respectively. Eric La Cara from Capital Tax & Accounting Services spoke about the tax implications for overseas investors in both markets.
